Five more free NLP techniques you can start using today...

Happy Sunday everyone,

I had a good response my last blog where I gave you five free NLP techniques to start using immediately so I thought that today I would give you five more.  You don't need to attend an NLP course to make these work for you! However, you may well find they lead to you wanting to learn more so beware!

Here goes:

1. How to change your state 

If you are feeling less than resourceful, changing your state is something that you can do easily. All you need to do is to do something different with your physiology. If you can, go out for a walk.  Even a short walk will change how you feel.  If a walk isn't possible, do a couple of star jumps.  I guarantee that these will get your energy levels up!  

2. How to feel more grounded

Stand up if you can.  If you can't, make sure you can put both feet on the ground from your chair and follow the same tips. Imagine all the energy in your body flowing easily to the area around your solar plexus or your lower stomach. Keep imagining all your energy flowing there.  Then imagine there are roots growing out of your feet into the ground.  You are strong, confident and grounded. Notice how you start to feel differently in this posture.

3. How to build your confidence 

I am sure there are times when you feel a little less than resourceful, and, you have something coming up where you want to show up in the best way that you can.  Think of a specific time when you felt like you want to feel right now. Maybe it was a time you felt confident, motivated, energised, successful and so on. Pick the most positive, energetic, specific example. Imagine floating back down into your body at that moment, looking through your own eyes.  Remember what you saw, heard, noticed and, most importantly, how you felt at that moment.  Dial up those amazing feelings even more.  Now in that state, go and deal with the situation knowing that you are setting yourself up for success.

4. How to feel more motivated

We have all had those times when we feel disinclined to do something that we know we need to do.  For me, it's normally housework or getting started with a task i don't feel that enthusiastic about. Notice that you have a picture in your spacial awareness and where that picture is located in relation to your body.  I know it sounds weird, but you will instinctively know!  For me it's up and to my right. Then think of something you love to do.  Notice where you store that picture.  For me it's up and to my left. I am sure your location will be different too.  Now move the picture of the thing you don't want to do into the location of the thing you are very motivated about.  Notice what happens.  I expect you can get on with the task more easily now.

5. How to deal with negative feelings

Next time you feel down about something imagine leaving the problem where you are and walking away from it. Or you can stay where you are and swish the problem far away from you in whatever direction you choose.  Notice how you feel less associated to the feeling of that problem as you move away from it.
