next NLP Practitioner

This week we have a guest blog from one of our Team NLP trainers, Tonje Elisabeth Aaroe.  Tonje and I met when she was at Google and I was delivering a training that she had commissioned.  It was a chance meeting that has shaped both our lives.  This week Tonje talks about how NLP has made an impact in her life and how she used the NLP Practitioner training to kick start a new life for herself and her family...as well as finding a husband along the way.  So magic really can happen with NLP. Our next Practitioner starts next weekend on the 19th June.  Are you ready to join us and become the best version of you?  Click this link to learn more about NLP practitioner course.

Over to Tonje...

I started my journey diving into NLP at Tony Robbins seminars. What I experienced at these seminars were so life changing, earth shattering and mind blowing, that I wanted to learn more about the tools and techniques used and I wanted to help other people live their lives to the fullest.

I came home after one seminar and sold in a leadership training at my job in Google. I spent 6 months finding someone internally to talk to about doing it and through my colleague I met Lindsey Agness. A woman who was destined to have a big impact on my life.

Coming home from another Tony Robbins seminar, I had made some big decisions; my first child was 1 years old and I was done with not loving my job. It was a great job, it just wasn’t my destiny, it didn’t give me meaning and purpose. Ever heard the quote “I was sick and tired of being sick and tired”?

I was stressed out and not loving or engaged in my job. I felt like I was dying bit by bit every day. I often thought; is this it? Is this all there is? Is this going to be my legacy?

I didn’t know what I was going to do, I didn’t have a strategy.

Looking back, I probably would have done it all again in the same way, because when you have a window of opportunity, you need to grab it with both hands and take a leap of faith.

Though, it is wise if you create a strategy and if you have 1-2 years of savings before you jump. This is because after you jump, it will be a bumpy ride...that is how life works and this is the essence of change.

After meeting Lindsey, I thought; “I want to do what she is doing”. She had a Practitioner course in NLP coming up and I signed up. I didn’t really have the money or the time to do the course since I was pregnant with my second child, working for myself and had a toddler at home with my partner and we had recently invested in a new home.

However I had learned that to be the best version of me and to be able to give to others and live my life to the fullest, I needed to take time out for myself to explore and grow.

This was the first course and certification of several I embarked on, and it ended up with me getting my Trainer in NLP certification with the amazing Lindsey Agness and Tracey Gray. Both strong and inspiring women I am lucky to consider peers and friends now.

My journey with NLP has been tough at times. It has stretched me far far beyond any limit I had and there are so many times I have thought that I couldn’t, but as NLP will teach you, you absolutely can. I have been sitting in the back seat of a car writing 40 pages whilst being picked up from the airport, when I was studying for my Trainer certification in a language that was not my first language.

6 years later I can confidently say that if it wasn’t for NLP, I wouldn’t have met my soulmate (I met him whilst being on a train to spend 3 weeks in Hythe to become a Trainer in NLP).

Without NLP I probably wouldn’t have been able to grow my business with Lindsey and our fellow partner and then catapult myself into a Country Manager position for a global leadership development company ranked amongst the top 20 in the world.

Without NLP I probably wouldn’t be able to have a relationship with my to be husband, whilst we’re living in two different countries and have 4 kids between the ages of 5 and 7 to take care of between ourselves.

Without NLP I wouldn’t be able to coach my man to have a better relationship with his ex and to coach my ex so that we ended up having the best co-parent friendship and where my man and my ex are great friends. Truly a happy blended family.

Without NLP I wouldn’t be able to be the mum I am, inspiring our kids to be their best versions of themselves and to allow them to be their amazing selves.

Without NLP I wouldn’t have been so crazy to buy a piece of land, hire an architect and start the journey of building a house, whilst still a single mom 50% of the time and running my own business!! This year the house got evaluated at 1 million GBP, even before it is built, which we will start this year. Next Christmas we will celebrate together in our new built house!

Without NLP I wouldn’t be able to do so many things that I do today, guiding and challenging myself, like ice-swimming, meeting new people and friends.

With the help of NLP, I have designed my life to be how I always dreamt of living.

With love

Tonje
